From Taupo to Rotorua

The lake Taupo gives birth to Waikato river.
Aratiatia rapids are used for electricity generation since 1945.

For 1MW of electricity to be generated at Aratiatia powerhouse, 3.7 tonnes of water is required evry second.

Each of the three generators produces electricity at 11,000 volts. Transformers atep the voltage up to 220,000 volts for transmission over the national grid.

Not bad the ride huh?

Huka falls.
200 000 litres of water falling every minute, enough to fill 5 olympic swimming poosl every minute. The danderous undertow created at the bottom of the fall has claimed the craft of many river users.

In New Zealand, people are restoring old bus like this into motorhomes.

NZ have a strong geothermal activity.
Hot water ponds and rivers are everywhere around Rotorua.

In this country, there are bus stops for humans next to bus stops for sheeps.

Lake Rotorua that day was very agitated.
